Any reproduction or distribution not expressly permitted according to copyright requires prior approval from Nomos Publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-granting-of-rights\">1. Granting of Rights<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>With the agreement to publish the article, the author transfers the exclusive rights to publish the work to the publishers for the duration of the statutory copyright, including spatial and temporal exclusive rights with regard to reproduction or distribution in material form, the right to provide public reproduction and the right to provide public access, the right to inclusion in databases, the right to storage on electronic media and the right to distribution and reproduction thereof, including the right to other use in electronic form. This includes forms of use not currently known.&nbsp; Where authors\u2019 fees for the published articles are paid, the above-mentioned rights are settled after the agreed final flat-rate payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-statutory-remuneration-vg-wort-collecting-society-wort\">2. Statutory Remuneration (VG Wort) \u2013 (Collecting Society Wort)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors and publisher assume common management of rights according to the VG Wort, as enabled under the Collecting Societies Act 2006 \u00a7 27a.<br>Prerequisite for a common management of rights is, according to current law, the agreement of the author to the participation of the publishing house according to the VG Wort at the time of registration of the magazine article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-secondary-exploitation-rights-and-self-archiving\">3. Secondary Exploitation Rights and Self-archiving<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After the expiry of a one year period the manuscript of the author\u2019s article may be published elsewhere, according to \u00a7 38 para 1 sentence 2 and para 2 of the Act on Copyright and Related Rights (UhrG).The right to self-archive on the author\u2019s individual website and the institution where they are employed remains unaffected. (\u00a7 38 para 4 UhrG)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-green-publishing\">4. \u201cGreen Publishing\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nomos Publishing House is a \u201cgreen publisher\u201d, also then when diverging from the revised version of the SHERPA\/RoMEO List. Details on the rights to self-archiving are derived from the current version of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/v2.sherpa.ac.uk\/id\/publication\/35500\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SHERPA\/RoMEO List<\/a>. Accordingly, 24 months after publication of the printed version (publisher PDF), authors may place the text on their own or their institution\u2019s website. However, it is possible to publish individual articles in the journal open access by making the digital version freely available under a Creative Commons license chosen by the respective author(s). The publisher requires a fee to cover the publication costs (Article Processing Charge &#8211; APC) in the amount of 1,990.00 EUR (plus VAT). Many scientific institutions and science funding bodies provide corresponding funds for the publication of research results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you interested in this option? Talk to your editorial office or contact <a href=\"mailto:open-access@nomos.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">open-access@nomos.de<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n    <h2 class=\"mediadata__anchor-headline\"><span id=\"peer-review-process\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>Peer Review Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-manuscripts\">Manuscripts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Manuscripts which are submitted for free themed issues are subject to a two-time double-blind peer review process. The authors receive excerpts from the assessments and notes for revision. The publication of essays is decided on the basis of the external assessments. A list of the assessors (since 2010) can be viewed here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The assessment procedure aims at improving the quality of the submitted manuscripts. In recent years, approx. 60 percent of submissions were rated \u201crevise and resubmit\u201d and between 25 and 30 percent of all assessed manuscripts were rejected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The focus journals are conceptualised by issue coordinators and jointly discussed by the scientific advisory board and the editorial department. The respective issue coordinators, usually supported by external assessors, are responsible for the assessment of contributions submitted for focus journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-other-categories\">Other categories<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The editorial department decides on the publication of contributions to the categories \u201cWSI Reports\u201d, \u201cCurrent Research\u201d, \u201cPractice\u201d and \u201cDebate\u201d. The same is true for the selection of book reviews.
