Kritisches Journal der Islamischen Theologie (KJIT)
About
Kritisches Journal der Islamischen Theologie (KJIT) is the first German-language review journal of its kind. In the course of establishing the Centres for Islamic Theology at German universities and the numerous publications resulting from these centres, the founding of this publication was virtually indispensable.
An academically honest and responsible theological-scientific work and a sustainable specialised discipline both include the necessary open attitude to critically examine the research results. The KJIT is dedicated to all disciplines of Islamic theology – exegetical, historical, systematic, social-theoretical and religious education – with a decidedly critical approach. It sees itself as an independent forum for a well-founded discussion of theological publications of all research directions and schools of thought. The aim is to provide qualified, factual and methodologically reflective support and appraisal of research in the overall field of Islamic theology.
Against this background, it is essential for the anchoring of Islamic theology within the scientific community not only to publish research work but also to critically appraise it according to established standards. This is the task of the KJIT.
The KJIT is edited by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Milad Karimi and is published biannually by Karl Alber.
