About
The Review of Global Value Inquiry (RGVI) is an interdisciplinary forum for critical reflection on values and norms from a global perspective.
RGVI is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research on the nature, justification, interpretation, and contestation of values and norms, within and across social and cultural contexts. RGVI emphasises normative inquiry and critical reflection on values and norms, common in fields such as philosophy and social, political, legal and economic theory. It also welcomes contributions with a more empirical focus, provided they address questions of valuation and normativity with conceptual rigor. RGVI encourages dialogue across disciplines and research methods.
A core aim of the journal is to foster genuinely global perspectives on values and norms. To that end, RGVI offers a platform for research grounded in or focused on diverse intellectual, religious, and cultural traditions. The journal welcomes work examining values and norms in global or intercultural contexts, and contributions drawing on intellectual traditions that have been historically excluded or underrepresented.
Although the principal language of publication is English, every article appears simultaneously in one additional language. Submissions are welcome in any language. In addition to full-length research articles, RGVI publishes critical dialogues, book reviews, and guest-edited special issues that contribute to the advancement of global value inquiry.

RGVI is a DOAJ indexed open access journal. In accordance with the editors’ intention, open access publishing permits free access to academic publications. All articles in RGVI are published under a CC-BY-licence.
A CC-BY-license allows the journal’s content to be shared and modified provided that appropriate credit is given and that it is indicated if changes were made.
The journal does not levy any article processing or submission charges.
