Our Vision for the Future
Playing our part in conserving the natural diversity of our environment and mitigating climate change is paramount to all of us at Nomos Publishing Group. Moved by an internal call-to-action, our Environmental Protection Group meets regularly to identify common goals and objectives, share ideas and discuss solutions for a greener company.
Since 2018, Nomos Publishing Group has refrained from using shrink wrap to seal its books, with exceptions being made only on the rarest occasions.
We produce our books and journals exclusively in Europe, with a majority of our products published regionally in Germany. The shorter travel distances enables us to reduce our carbon emissions.
We source 100% certified renewable electricity generated from hydropower for our publishing headquarters. We are in the midst of installing a photovoltaic system on the roof of our publishing house. Besides that, we are proud that our website is hosted by a member of the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact. Up to 65% of website host’s power stems from renewable energy sources.
Our sinks are outfitted with special filters that produce either sparkling or still tap water. This avoids the use of plastic bottles and reduces emissions associated with transporting bottled water to our offices.
