From 2027, this long-established magazine will be published by Nomos. The Kursbuch Kulturstiftung will retain responsibility for its editorial management, editorial team and brand.
The Kursbuch Cultural Foundation and Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft have agreed on a long-term partnership. From January 2027, Nomos will take over the publishing of ‘Kursbuch‘ – which has been in publication since 1965 – including production, distribution, marketing and technical implementation. The Kursbuch Kulturstiftung will retain editorial control, editorial responsibility and the Kursbuch brand. The first issue to be published by Nomos will be Kursbuch 229 in spring 2027.
Since its foundation in 1965, ‘Kursbuch‘ has been one of the leading forums for social, political and cultural debate in the German-speaking world. The journal brings together perspectives from academia, culture, politics and society, and is aimed at an intellectually curious readership. Its editorial independence and intellectual openness continue to make ‘Kursbuch’ an important voice in social discourse to this day.
For Nomos, this collaboration represents a targeted expansion of its publishing portfolio to include one of the most high-profile journals at the intersection of culture, politics and society. In addition to the print edition, *Kursbuch* will also be available digitally via Inlibra, the platform for academic publications, thereby gaining additional reach within academia, libraries and society.
