Award-winning doctoral theses in health and medical law
Dr Annika Bührle’s doctoral thesis: ‘Stabilisation of the dual health insurance system – Potential for promoting health-conscious behaviour and the integration of digital care processes’ – and Dr Anna Büscher’s doctoral thesis, ‘Pricing within the AMNOG procedure – Interface issues in the regulation of prices for innovative medicines in a multi-tier system’, were awarded the 30th Science Prize on 8 May 2026 at the GRPG’s general meeting.
Dr Bührle’s work, ‘Stabilisation of the Dual Health Insurance System’, examines the need for reform of the health insurance system in light of demographic change and rising costs. The focus is on the regulatory framework under health insurance and data protection law for the stabilising factors of health-conscious behaviour and digital care processes.
Dr Büscher’s work, ‘Pricing within the AMNOG Process’, examines the interface issues arising from the AMNOG process for setting prices for innovative medicines within the multi-tiered healthcare system.
The Society for Law and Politics in Healthcare (GRPG) awards this prize in recognition of outstanding academic work, with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary exchange and academic debate in the fields of health and social law, as well as in the area of health and social policy.
